Anthony and Claudia Rossi, a married couple in their 50s, seek a peaceful, environmentally friendly lifestyle in rural Roberts Creek. Anthony, a semi-retired CEO, and Claudia, a retired nurse, are avid hobbyists, entertainers, and animal lovers.
Project Overview:
The design involved renovating and expanding a one-level home into a two-level residence, maintaining the original footprint. The design incorporates sustainable, energy-efficient features and spaces tailored to the clients' active lifestyle, including a craft room, home office, and areas for family gathering, all set in a serene forest location with ocean views.
NEILSEN FAMILY RESIDENCE

The Neilsen family includes siblings Harper and Riley, along with Riley's partner, Lennox, and a 12-year-old child, Angel. Harper is an aspiring animation studio owner, while Riley is a successful food and restaurant editor. Project Overview:
This project involved redesigning a two-storey corner lot home to accommodate the family's dynamic lifestyle. Key design elements include a focus on sustainability, a large kitchen for two cooks, entertainment spaces, and a strong connection between indoor and outdoor living areas. The design reflects the family's love for the arts and their need for spaces that support their professional and personal interests, including a home office, musical rehearsal space, and areas for large gatherings.
MAH VACATION HOME

Client Profile:
The project involved interviewing my classmate, Colleen Mah, to understand her preferences and needs for a vacation home. Colleen and her partner Felix wanted a space that would serve as a tranquil retreat from their busy professional lives as project managers. They enjoy outdoor activities and hosting small gatherings, and the design was developed to reflect these priorities.

The design involved expanding an existing 1,000 square foot home to 1,600 square feet. Key design elements include an open-plan layout for social areas, private decks for outdoor living, and the use of sustainable materials. The goal was to create a modern, serene space that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor environments, providing both relaxation and entertainment opportunities for the clients.
LIV DESIGN CHALLENGE - PATIO DESIGN
Project Overview:
This project is a submission to the LIV Design Student Challenge, which requires designing a 188 square foot patio space that promotes year-round use and supports various functions, such as entertaining and individual work. The challenge emphasizes the importance of integrating indoor-outdoor living elements, using weatherproof materials, and fostering a deeper connection to nature. The design must address practical constraints and utilize innovative solutions to enhance functionality, lighting, and overall aesthetic appeal, all while adhering to specific guidelines that maintain the exterior consistency of the building.
